Sunny is almost a grown up....

So this year for Sunny's birthday we celebrated at home. I made a purple velvet cake (similar to a red velvet but just add some blue coloring also). It was really good even though it didn't look exactly beautiful. He got Call of Duty MW3 and as a gag gift I got him a pair of overalls and a bandana (inside joke, had to be there). I think overall he had a really good day. Hey at least this year I got him to smile for me!

So if anyone knows me I had to restrain myself from decorating for Halloween at least until September. Most years right after the 4th of July is perfectly acceptable for me. We started to slowly get things put up around the house and eventually came up with some pretty good ideas. I hope you all enjoy....

Bishops Pumpkin Farm

This weekend we invited Deanna, Rob, Dylan, Kenzie and Trish and Ty to go with us to Bishops Pumpkin Farm. Unfortunately Trish couldn't make it but we all headed up there anyway.
Everyone hadn't been except my kids and it was really fun seeing how much it's grown and how many attractions they now have.

Karan and Rae having a great time looking at all the animals. They had a petting zoo, lots of different farm animals in pens, a mini-railroad, corn maze and tons of other really fun things.

Here they were making their own cider with the acres and acres of apples they also have planted there.

We wandered all over acres and acres of pumpkins and ended up buying one out of a bin LOL.

Karan, Rae and I went on a train ride around the pumpkin farm. We got to see all of the other things they grow and animals they have there.

We had a great time. We ended up having corn dogs at "Pigadeli Square" and eating under a bunch of big trees they had there. We got to relax and have a really fun time together just wandering around. They had a shop also that sold homemade fudge of all types and varieties. Milton got some salt water taffy and I bought myself a recipe book of all kinds of yummy pumpkin recipes. The girls ran all over the place and got to burn off some energy. At the end we took a hay ride around the farm and got to relax before heading back home. Halloween is almost here!

Ghost hunting in Virginia City

This weekend we headed up to Gardnerville to visit with my Mom at her house and got to spend time with Trish and Ty and see Josh. We decided it would be really fun to go on the ghost hunting tour of Virginia City. We got there Saturday afternoon and had dinner with everyone then headed out to Virginia City.

I finally got a picture of everyone together even though I had to break up a football discussion in order to do so :)

Today we headed to the farm in Chico to spend some time with all the family and swim and bbq. We all got there around 4 and the kids had a great time hanging out with cousins and aunts and uncles.

This weekend we got tickets to take the kids to the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. We left early Saturday morning and headed down. The kids thought it would be a "boring" museum trip. Needless to say I am thrilled their thoughts had changed by the end.

They had a planetarium inside the museum that was all digital and we sat in a amphitheatre and had Jody Foster narrate the story of the planets. It was really amazing. It was so realistic that you were flying through space that they had a warning saying if you felt like you were going to fall to just close your eyes....LOL

The floor was all made of water, with sharks and manta rays swimming around. There was little portholes that the kids could stand on and watch the sharks swim under their feet.

Inside here we got to go inside the bubble dome that was underneath the pools on the first floor. The entire basement was the Steinhous Aquarium. It had tons of really neat fish and animals. At the time they had a Phillipino tidepool exhibit so Milton was thrilled. We saw everything from electric eels, Sea Bass, snapping turtles, jellyfish and even a exhibit of Nautilus's.

They had baby eels that would pop up out of the sand every few minutes.

Here is Trinity, Aidin and Karan reaching into the tidal pools. You could touch starfish, urchins and various other tidal creatures. I love Trinity's face in this picture....LOL the starfish were about the size of the kids heads some were moving a little bit around the pool.

There was a tunnel you could walk through that was the underside of the Amazon rainforest room. They had fish swimming around the size of Raman (well almost). Here is an Alligator Gar and it was massive.

Here is an alligator and a crocodile skull so you could see the differences between them. They had a live albino alligator and it was so neat to see it swimming around with the fish.

The girls got to work on the Academy's computer's and pretend they were scientists......apparently sassy scientists..

Here we are now on the second floor inside the Rainforest exhibit. It's actually three stories tall and an actual replica of the rain forest. We had to go into a room to close us off and then they would let us in the room to make sure none of the animals got out. Since they have so many animals running around free they had to make sure we got used to the temperature and that we had no hitchhikers on the way out.....

Here is a shot of the third floor looking down onto the rainforest floor. This pool was the top of the tunnel that we walked through in the aquarium.

This was the mechanical snake from the movie Anaconda. It was really interesting to see how much work was involved in making that thing.

After we were done at the museum we headed over to Pier 39 to show the kids the sealions and to see the ocean.

Aidin thought it was hilarious to bark like the sealions and thought that they were barking just because he was.

We got to see Alcatraz and here is the kids figuring out how to work the telescopes.

Raman, Sunny and Skid say it's "uncool" to smile in pictures. Yeah me, so now I have tons of pictures where the kids look like they are having a great time!

We got to watch a "Captain Jack Sparrow Show" on the Pier. He would juggle swords while balancing plates on his mouth. Who knew Captain Jack was so talented.

It was a great day and even though we didn't get home till late and my feet and legs were exhausted the kids had a great time seeing everything.

I can't believe it's that time again to clean out the pool and put it to good use again. The kids were so excited to get it clean and then about a half an hour into it Milton and I were out finishing up the last bits of it. Oh well at least everyone has a great time when they swim and we can all do something that doesn't involve electronics :)

Raman Graduates 8th Grade

On Thursday June 1st Raman had his graduation ceremony from Tierra Buenna. Raman, Milton, Karan, me, his Gramma, Grampa, Dad and Aunt and Uncle came to the house and we headed off to see him walk the stage.

Of course here are the kids looking so thrilled to get their pictures taken.

We were watching his graduation and they started announcing awards. Little did we know that Raman would win the Principal's Award for most improved student overall. Raman had some struggles at school early on and I was so happy to see how far he had come I was crying so hard when they finally announced his name. I am so proud of him!

Kenzie Graduates High School!

On May 28th my littlest sister graduated high school. We were all so proud of here, she finally made it. On Thursday Trish, Josh and Ty came down to stay with us for the weekend. It was great to see everyone again. Ty had gotten so big and definitely had a mind of his own.

I think the funniest part was that to "relax" Ty had the laptop and watched YouTube videos of Monster Trucks races. Very relaxing....
On Friday Milton had to go to school so we all headed out and went shopping during the day and that night we left for El Dorado Hills to attend Kenzies Graduation.
We all met at the high school and by we all I mean, Mom, Dad, Kenzie, Trish, Josh, Ty, Jenny, Chris and his daughter and Ashley. This was a great turn out and we sat and cheered Kenz on as she walked the stage. I can't believe how grown up and what a woman she has become!

After the graduation we headed over to Folsom and ended up meeting at Chili's for dinner with everyone. It was a great night even though a bit long and we all got to spend some much needed family time together.

Mom, Dad, Kenzie and Matt came over to our house on Saturday to stay with us and hang out until they had to go back to Nevada.

Karan was in heaven with all the attention that she got from Gramma. Not to mention how ecstatic Raman was to have Grampa Rick to make jokes with on the couch and watch wrestling together. It was a great weekend and can't wait to see everyone again......hopefully soon!

This year for Spring Break we had the kids with us. Since they have to go back before Easter we decided to do Easter early in California. I got up early in the morning and went shopping and then had Milton keep the kids in the family room while the "Easter Bunny" visited our living room.

Sunny and Raman were such good sports.....I know they hate pictures but I very rarely ever get all 5 able to stand still for awhile.

Karan was so funny she was having everyone follow her around the yard as they "hunted for the Easter Bunny". It was hilarious.

Big Weekend

So this weekend Milton left to head out to Utah for Trinity's dance recital. We decided to try something different this time and he took the train, which with today's gas prices I sure am glad we did that. Here we are at the train station dropping him off.

After he left the kids and I watched movies every night and on Saturday Karan had a big afternoon. She has been complaining that her teeth hurt and after inspection it showed she was losing two of her teeth, one on top and one on bottom. By 6:30 she had wiggled them enough that sure enough they were out.

Karan tomorrow will be officially ten years old. I can't believe how the time has flown by. We started off this morning with getting up like we always do and going shopping on Saturday mornings before everyone else is up.

It's always so nice to spend quality girl time together especially since there's so much testosterone in this house anyway. I asked Karan where she wanted to go clothes shopping for her birthday and she said "Target". Of course that is my favorite store as well so we headed out and shopped away.

I swear this girl should get a job shopping for a living since 2 hours later and $200 less she was finally done. At least she had a great time. Today we are going to Cal-Skate with Raleigh to skate the night away and hopefully Mom will be able to walk tomorrow. :)

I thought that I would put up a post this year of some choice pics that somehow never made the cut or that kids would have killed me if I would have posted or just plain old great family memories. I thought that we would take a stroll down memory lane in a post that I call POY - Post's of the Year!

Here we start off in January (New Years to be exact) of 2010.

I know Dad was so thrilled to have me taking so many pics. I think the exact phrase was "lovely more pictures". But look at all the blackmail...ugh.. I mean memories I now have.

Now as we progress through the year there have been lots of changes and challenges that we have faced.

In February Karan turned 9....my how the time has flown by.....

In April Milton and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. It seems like just yesterday.

We took this pic at Chuck E. Cheeses and I just love it.

Pretty soon before you knew it we were on to summer and the kids back out for vacation. To get ready for summer we dusted off the old pool and Milton bought me a new grill for out back. We did a lot of remodeling this year on the house and one of them was to open up the patio so that we can have parties out back for the kids.

Here we are taking the kids up to Chico Creek to swim and have some fun in the creek.

And now moving onto September and the kids back in School!
Trinity turned 8 this year and got baptized so we all traveled out to Utah to have Milton baptize her. We were so excited and I know Milton was thrilled!

We hung out for awhile and visited a lot of spots around Utah that we wanted to see and got to spend some quality time with Jesse and Cari as well as the Trinity and Aidin.
This year for the end of October we ended up going to Blizzcon as well as Disneyland so it was a pretty hectic time.

Raman and Skid kicked so much in bed they ended up getting "kicked" down on the floor that night in our hotel room in Anaheim. The SNORING IN THAT ROOM WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Nagar Kirtan is a Sikh celebration that happens on the first Sunday in November. We had over Babaji, Grammaji, the kids Aunt and Uncle and lots of cousins. Manjinder (the kids cousin) stayed out our house and it was really super nice in seeing them all grown up. It seems like yesterday he was running around being a little munchkin :)

Three Generations

It was a really rainy day and we all got soaked. By about 2 pm it started to clear up thankfully but we had all dried our clothes and had to get changed about three times that day. Luckily we live right in front of the parade route so that we can just run inside and change.

Grampa Bill stayed inside in his snuggy and had chole and samosa's delivered to him from the kids...lol

Thanksgiving this year we stayed home and had Arlin, Maribel, James, Deanna and Skid over. It was really nice and the food was great...if I do say so myself. It just didn't seem right though not having Mom's dressing :(

Grammaji in her usual spirit of giving brought me dinner one night when I got home from work.....yummy kerala!

Now as we get into December and Christmas time we did a bunch of new activities for the kids. Karan had a field trip this year to the State Capitol. She didn't think I could make it but I ran over there and surprised her....you should have seen her face! Priceless.

One of my favorite days in December is the 11th. My biggest pain in the butt...ugh I mean child was turning 16 this year (heart attack!) and so we took him to DMV to get his permit.

We then celebrated with cake on his birthday but of course he wouldn't let me take a pic of him.....teenagers

Christmas time was almost here and it was nonstop Christmas music and house decorating and teenagers rolling their eyes at me....

And finally we make it to New Years Eve! We had a party at our house with Deanna, Skid, Grampa Bill, Gramma Debbie, Rylee and all the kids. Milton bought me a fire pit for Christmas so I was dying to try it out. We set up the fire pit and I hung Christmas lights up out back and playing big band Christmas and we all got to spend some great quality time together roasting marshmellows and making smores.

Disneyland!!! My favorite place in the whole world

This year for Halloween we took the kids to Blizzcon (gaming convention) and me and the girls and Skid headed over to Disneyland. Disneyland at Halloween is absolutely AWESOME!!!

Here is Karan on the river boat ride....she thought the animals were real. We were progressing down the river and she kept getting more nervous and more nervous....as we got close to the Lions she was FREAKING OUT and trying to climb on my lap....I then told her they weren't real and she got VERY MAD at me! LOL Hey a Mom's gotta get her jabs in when she can.

Trinity's Baptism

On Friday we headed out to Utah to stay with Cari and Jess for the weekend to have Milton baptize Trinity. Of course it's a horrible drive but so worth it to be able to see everyone and spend some time with the kids.

Milton and Trinity looked so adorable in their little jumpsuits...

After the baptism we went over to Shauna's house and had a wonderful lunch. All the kids got to play on the trampoline and it was very nice. Shauna had tons of food for everyone and we all got to celebrate Trinity's special day.
The next day we took the kids to Temple Square to spend some time and let the kids and I see all of the beautiful buildings.

This was one of the skylights in the General Conference building that had a fountain underneath it. It was beautiful.

Then we went and had lunch and headed over to This is the place pioneer village. It was really cool to take the train ride around and see all of the old buildings.

Here is a shot of the back of the Fairbanks home. They have all those boxes as planters. There are tons of apple trees in the side and back yard.

We all had a great time and got to see some beautiful places. We are so happy that Trinity decided to get baptized and Milton is so happy that he could do it. It was a really great weekend!

This year for Labor Day we took the family up to Thousand Trails in Brownsville and hung out with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Debbie. We had a great time swimming and bbq'ing in the afternoon. It was really nice water and everyone had a great time.

There was a really beautiful pool there and considering it was about 95 degrees we thought it best to take the kiddies swimming.

They also had a beautiful lake there as well. We raced the kids to the buoy's THEY LOST!! Oh yeah Mom's still got it!

The kids thought it was the neatest thing to sharpen sticks to make knives out of them....then after the shank making was over they resorted to playing with mud....what lovely children.

Swimming, Swimming and more Swimming.....

Today we took the kids to our favorite swimming spot up past Nevada City on Highway 49. It's one of California's only covered bridges that's left and is really shallow and fun and you can see completely through the water at all the fish and tadpoles. The kids thought it was the coolest (one of the very few times I can say that LOL).

This week Trinity and Aidin came down to stay with us for the summer. Everyone is having a great time and just love to see them having such a great time. Here's a few pics of our escapades....

We finally got hot enough to decide to clean out the old pool and hook it back up. I sure am thrilled I decided to do that. It's only like 105 degrees this weekend.Milton bought me a new grill and I am super happy about that! Now we can eat out back and not heat up the house.

The Fourth of July Weekend!

This weekend we spent Friday night and Saturday with Mom and Dad at their house and out at the farm going swimming. It was a really fun time and the kids had a blast.

I will miss Mom and Dad tons....I hope this next year goes by really fast and it takes a really long time to get their Visa :) We always have so much fun and this year was no exception. Milton and I told Mom the only that could have made it better would have been if Trinity, Aidin, Jesse, Cari and the kids would have been there. We got to have fun as a family and relax and spend quality time together..... what more could you ask for. Happy Fourth of July Everyone!

Well the 4th of July is almost here and next to Halloween I think that it's my favorite holiday. Alas we still haven't finished any work on the POC boat we have but oh well we will be camping and not anywhere close to a lake this time :(

That's alright we will get to spend time with the family and just relax and enjoy the rest.

I was hoping that my sister could come down and visit but she and Josh are busy with all of their life they have going on up in the wonderful world of Nevada. I miss her terribly and that little stinker of hers.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful 4th of July and stays safe and hopefully doesn't blow anything off their body that they might need.... :)

This weekend Milton got the tree ready to make a treehouse with. It's a perfect tree. It's only about four feet off the ground and has a really hollow place in the middle so that we can build it for the kids. It looks so fun that my dear husband had to try it out!

Last night we were watching cartoon movies with the kids and I got these shots of my family fulls of cheesers....everyone is so funny and play all the time, it's great. I am very happy for everyone gettings along for the most part all the time. We have our ups and downs but I wouldn't change a thing....Happy New Year Everyone!

Christmas is finally here!

This year for Christmas Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Ren headed out to Salt Lake City to Jesse and Cari's house to visit with them. In the process they also picked up the two littlest of our brood and graciously brought them back to California for us. It was very exciting to have them call us along the way and check in so by the time they were finally here the kids we about bouncing off the walls wanting to play with them. It was wonderful when they finally arrived tired but ready to have a great time. For Christmas presents for ourselves this year I convinced Milton to have a "relaxing night out" just me and him before everone got here. Little did he know that meant a pedicure. Anyhoo he was a great sport about it and actually he said it felt really good and was fun....maybe I can talk him into going for more??

"Go ahead and cancel all the rest of my appointments"....just kidding dear, the ladies thought it was very funny and great that we can hang out together like that and that Milton is definately secure enough in his manhood that he can get a pedicure.

Big Sun turns 15!

This year for Sunny's Birthday he wanted to go to dinner at Chili's in Yuba City, so we all loaded up in the van and headed down there. We took Deanna, Grandpa Bill, Skid and all of us there. When the waitress sat us down Milton whispered to her that it was Sunny's Birthday and he told me "I would be sorry" if the waitresses sang him happy birthday. Well obviously I don't take his threats too seriously because sure enough they sang good and loud for him. It was so funny, Sunny told the waiter that he was turning 21 as a joke so when they came and sang to him they said "Happy 21st Birthday to Sunny, Happy Birthday to you"! Well obviously that was one of the best birthday gifts he could have gotten!

Thanksgiving and Sand??

This year for Thanksgiving we headed up to Fallon Nevada. Everyone in the Fairbanks Family was headed there to go ride four-wheelers and relax in the beautiful Nevada sand. I joke but actually it was a really nice time and we got to spend some much needed downtime with everyone. We headed back on Thursday night and ate our Thanksgiving dinner at Boomtown.

Sunny was learning how to drive a four wheeler with a clutch. He gave it a pretty good try but I would have liked him to have gone a little farther. I think he was embarrassed to be shown how to do things at his age.

Grandpa had quite a bit of faith in Raman. He just handed Raman over the four wheeler and told him to have fun. Needless to say one trailer dent later and two heart attacks for his mother he was back and safe with me. I can't believe he actually ran into a trailer and then got stuck. Too funny....I don't think you will ever live that down dear.

Karan went yesterday for the first time to go get a haircut. It was pretty emotional for me to see all of her hair falling to the ground, but she has been wanting to get it cut for a long time. It was Mommy hanging onto the past rather than Karan. So here we go, she picked out a super cute A line cut that is shorter in back than in front and she just loves it.

Here are some pictures of Sunny's football game that we went to last week. He is #77 for the Gridley Bulldogs freshman football team. It was so funny since he is so much bigger than the other kids he would run them over and then go back and grab them by the shoulders and pick them up! It was hilarious. Unfortunately they lost their game but at least I was there to watch it and support them. We all went out to dinner that night and we ended up eating with almost the entire other schools team. Black Bear Diner was full of the other teams family and players. We thought that it would be very sportsman like to go and congratulate them on their win.

here are the pictures of our lovely Halloween Eve! Milton was a werewolf and I was a knawed on housewife. He looked awesome in his outfit. We got our pictures taken and averaged probably about 250 - 300 + tricker treaters. Some cried some laughed and some even ran away screaming but all in all I think everyone enjoyed themselves and we had a great time scaring the crap out of small children!

Raman and Halloween

He wanted to be leatherface for Halloween so I thought well what the heck, we don't have cutsy Halloween anymore at my house since we don't have any little guys at my house really anymore. It's all blood and gore basically. I ordered this outfit off of the website that produced the movie. They have a line of Halloween outfits for sale and he got one of them. Here he is getting ready to go impress the ladies at the Halloween Dance at Sycamore tonight at 6:30. Knock em dead Raman...uh I mean have a great time dear and try and stay out of trouble.

My Baby Sister has a Baby!

My little sister Trisha came down to visit us this weekend and brought Josh and Tyler with her. Tyler is 9 months old now and I couldn't wait to see him! Apparently Sunny couldn't either since he pretty much hogged him the whole time they were here. Apparently gangsta rapper wannabe teenagers like hanging out with small white children....who knew? Anyway we hung out on Saturday morning getting everyone ready and then we headed down to Yuba City to do some shopping with Trish.

We were all starving so we went to the Chinese food buffet down there and Josh had a great time with the Sushi. I am assuming there is not a huge market for Sushi in Nevada since he was so appreciative for me taking him to partake of the delicacy. He is so funny!

Who is this huge brown kid holding me? Oh wait it's my cousin Sunny.

For all of his annoyances Sunny is going to make some woman very happy some day. He is so great with kids and just loved playing with Ty the whole time. I would be holding him and he would come up and take him from me and they would head off to play on the floor or give him raspberries.

Up, Up and Away! Ty at 9 months is walking already. Not alot but at least a few feet. It's amazing to see such a little guy just hopping up and running around.

Oh no it's attack of the killer babies. I know I am a sicko, but I thought it would be a cute Halloween picture. Ty got one of my halloween decorations (which happened to be a replica of a cut off human foot- whatever) and was chewing on it.

Aunt Jennifer you can't get me.....he was the happiest baby I have ever seen. I hardly heard him cry at all. Trisha is very lucky to have such a great little guy. I didn't want them to leave and was really sad to see them head back home.

All Hallows Eve!

We even have an old bathtub that is going to be filled with "toxic ooze" and the remnants of it's inhabitant hanging out. Friends of the High Lakes Weekend

On Saturday Morning we volunteered to head up to the High Lakes to clean and repair trails. I was unsure of what I was getting myself involved in when agreeing to go to this but alas we headed out. Dad and Milton met up in a town just north of Stirling City (if you even know where Stirling City is??? I had not previous to this experience) and we started in on the road to the High Lakes.

Here is a picture of Milton and Karan standing in front of Spring Valley Lake. It was incredibly beautiful and I am thinking it would be a great place to camp. I am sure most of you have already been there but I had not and I think it's a great place. Very remote.

Here is just a small sampling of all the vehicles that were up there that day. We saw everything from Toyotas, Jeeps, Broncos, Trucks of every variety to these tube built vehicles that looked like something straight out of mad max.

Dad showed us some ancient Maidu Indian petroglyphs. It was very fascinating and almost sad to think that in close to another generation these will be gone.

Here is one of the main reasons that I feel as though I was in a non stop car accident for 6 hours straight with no medical intervention afterwards.

My daring husband kept right up with Dad the whole way. I can tell you that Dad was very excited! I haven't ever seen him that happy and it was really good to see that.

Sunny is now in freshman football for Gridley High School. He has games on Thursday nights if anyone would like to attend.

Tomorrow I officially feel old!

Yes I am sad to announce that tomorrow is the official day that I feel truly old. It has been a long time coming (14 and a half years exactly) but my oldest child starts high school and is about 6 inches taller than me and roughly 50 pounds heavier. I remember when each of them would look at me like the whole world revolved around me and now they are sarcastic and usually want to get away from me as soon as humanly possible.

I know that I sound like they are horrible, but they are only doing the usual teenager thing. At least I can rely on my Karan to still want to hang out with me (although it usually involves having to pay her to get her nails done, but alas we do what we have to do).

Sunny has told me that I am WAY TOO OVER PROTECTIVE and my quick response to that was the usual parent thing (it is uncanny how much we turn into our parents the older we become, I'm surprised I didn't try and tell him I would pull the car over??) was that as long as he lived under my roof etc. etc. Although being a Mommy I can't really be blamed for that. I think it's a genetic thing or something to that effect. At least that's what helps me when I am snooping on him or calling three times to find out where he's at.

Anyway here is a long ago picture of my sweet boy when he was about 24 hours old. I love all of my children immensely and hope that this school year goes great and that the moving up in grades does not jade them too much in preparation for being an adult.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

On Friday morning we decided to take the kids to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. Everyone got up early and we headed down there. We picked up my best friend Deanna and Skid (James) on the way. It was a long trip but we were so excited to see all of the animals and ride the rides that it didn't seem that long.
Milton and I went on the huge upside down, backwards and 25 feet in the sky ride and then decided that both of us are too old for that sort of thing after having to recover for 15 minutes, a bag of popcorn and two iced lemonades later.....

I was surprised at how well everything went, everyone looked at us with so many kids and we just smiled. They loved all of the rides and the food. We got to see dolphins, elephants, flamingos, sharks, sting rays, ocean fish and parrots. It was great for the kids to be able to see all of the animals.

Of course we had to get a picture of Taz. Milton walked up to get a picture and they thought he was joking.

We played the age and weight guessing game. They guessed that Karan was 9 (really 8, she won) that Trinity was 8 (really 6, she won) Sunny was 18 (really 14, he won and had a huge smile on his face) and they guessed Milton's weight (let's just say he won) So we all got superman capes of various colors and designs.

All the kids thought these were fake alligators.......THEY WEREN'T

And it payed off. He won two balls! OK sooooo mature....perverts!

Here we are getting ready to go into the shark experience. It was so pretty in there and the sharks were HUGE. They had a replica of a great white and it looked like the size of a small van! No more ocean swimming for me!

The walruses kept coming right up to the glass and playing with the kids, it was really cool to see how huge they are.

One of the few rare pictures of the elusive Sunny. He is basically a nocturnal creature and fairly aggressive these days as he reaches his adolescent stage.

We had a great time, (legs are a little tired, and kids sleepy) but everyone enjoyed themselves and we got to see a lot of animals that we don't normally get to see.

Fourth of July Campout

This year for our annual Fairbanks Family Fourth of July Campout we decided to go to Bucks Lake. It was a beautiful campsite right down the road from the lake. Me and Milton left Thursday night to go up and get the campsite ready for everyone. We accidently missed our turnoff and it took us 3 1/2 hours to get there...oops. Later on that evening Mom and Dad arrived and we all set up camp. Milton left that night at 9 to drive to Nevada to pick up the kids. Me and the kids said our prayers for Milton and headed off to sleep. Raman decided that he wanted to be a grown up and sleep in his own tent....and sure enough he did. I was positive that I would wake up to him crawling into our tent but he held steady and slept by himself.

The girls pitched in and carried our food basket out from the car. Little did we know that due to bears that would not be the first time that the food basket got hauled back and forth from the car. The bears got into our neighbors food almost every night! It was really scary to see the bear that close to us. And through all that Raman still continued to sleep by himself every night.

We had a great weekend and when we all left we had need of a shower and some clean clothes but overall things went very well and we got to make some lasting memories that I'm sure the kids will remember forever. I am sure seeing the bear really made a lasting impression!

Oh yeah and by the way since we didn't miss our turn off this time it only took us an hour and a half to get home! I only heard about that for the next three hours......

Here is a picture of my honey's birthday cake that I made him....yes I know it's not beautiful but it tasted delicious. I wanted him to show me how old he was with candles, but he held up 4 and 3 instead of 3 and 4. Can't you see how thrilled he is to be told to pose for the camera??

And finally we get the age right. My sweet husband as always so thrilled to be getting another year older!

Sunny D goes to High School

Here is my biggest baby graduating from 8th grade! He looks so handsome, I can't believe this is the little guy I used to chase around the house. We were supposed to have the graduation at 7:30 at the fairgrounds and who ever wanted to go could go. So then we invited everyone thinking there would be plenty of room. Then after a friek thunderstorm the night before they decided to move the graduation indoors to Farmers Hall. Then we were told that they could only have 8 tickets! Needless to say we were scrambling to figure out what to do. I called everyone that we had invited and told them that there would not be enough room and gave 6 of the tickets to Sunny's Dad. He had lot's of family from out of town that had shown up. In the end it worked out fine and we all sat together. He was so embarrassed to let me take pictures of him. This was the entrance to Farmers Hall and he did not want me to stop him to get his picture...whatever I took it anyway.

Raman played the drums in the band for Sunny's graduating class. It was nice so that we did not have to get him a ticket since he already had to be there.

I can't believe that he is moving onto High School already! My son is now officially no longer a bullpup but now a Bulldog!

Milton's kitty Shadow had babies last night. That's right 5 of them. They are absolutely adorable and she is being a very good mommy to them. I can't wait until they get big enough to play with! Soooo Cute!
