Newest Additions

So I have finally reached a time in my life in which I don't really concern myself too much what other people think (not that I was really concerned with that before but apparently it's gotten worse) and so I have decided that all the animals that I have always wanted to try and raise why not?  I mean we do have a really pretty big back yard and goodness knows I'm not getting any younger.  So here goes a list of our latest members of the Fairbanks Clan -

First there came Annie -
and then after getting Annie we went to the flea market one weekend and they were selling these two baby ducks that I just couldn't bare to go home with someone for eventual consumption so we got two ducks (which by the way are no longer babies by any stretch of the imagination),

and then added 5 chickens, but since they are so loud we gave the roosters a home with some new girlfriends.

And then eventually we got a friend for Annie, his name is Rocky

and now finally our final newest addition - Ricky Bobby

By the way he is scratching his rear end in this video, nothing else.....
Some might call us a zoo but hey you only live one so why not? video

Annie

So this year for Karan's birthday we decided to get her something that she has wanted for a very long time and ok let's just admit it Mom has too :)  So we found a pretty cheap mare for sale that is pretty old and Karan can learn on her.  I didn't want too much get up and go!
So Karan has now being learning how to take are of her and ride.  She is super excited and loves spending time with her.

Sunny is almost a grown up....

So this year for Sunny's birthday we celebrated at home.  I made a purple velvet cake (similar to a red velvet but just add some blue coloring also).  It was really good even though it didn't look exactly beautiful.  He got Call of Duty MW3 and as a gag gift I got him a pair of overalls and a bandana (inside joke, had to be there).  I think overall he had a really good day.  Hey at least this year I got him to smile for me!

It's the most wonderful time of the year.......

So if anyone knows me I had to restrain myself from decorating for Halloween at least until September.  Most years right after the 4th of July is perfectly acceptable for me.  We started to slowly get things put up around the house and eventually came up with some pretty good ideas.   I hope you all enjoy....

Bishops Pumpkin Farm

This weekend we invited Deanna, Rob, Dylan, Kenzie and Trish and Ty to go with us to Bishops Pumpkin Farm.  Unfortunately Trish couldn't make it but we all headed up there anyway.
Everyone hadn't been except my kids and it was really fun seeing how much it's grown and how many attractions they now have.

Karan and Rae having a great time looking at all the animals.  They had a petting zoo, lots of different farm animals in pens, a mini-railroad, corn maze and tons of other really fun things.

Deanna and Rob looking at the giant pigs they had there.

Here is the huge daddy pig.
 Goatel 6 LOL!

The llama kept wanting to spit at the girls and they were running around it screaming.

Here they were making their own cider with the acres and acres of apples they also have planted there.

Grrrrr..I am Optimus Prime scarecrow LOL.

I like big butts and I cannot lie.....

We wandered all over acres and acres of pumpkins and ended up buying one out of a bin LOL.

Karan, Rae and I went on a train ride around the pumpkin farm.  We got to see all of the other things they grow and animals they have there.

 Karan and I

We had a great time.  We ended up having corn dogs at "Pigadeli Square" and eating under a bunch of big trees they had there.  We got to relax and have a really fun time together just wandering around.  They had a shop also that sold homemade fudge of all types and varieties.  Milton got some salt water taffy and I bought myself a recipe book of all kinds of yummy pumpkin recipes.  The girls ran all over the place and got to burn off some energy.  At the end we took a hay ride around the farm and got to relax before heading back home.  Halloween is almost here!

Shaving???

Shaving???
Sunny's first shave. I can't believe my baby is old enough to shave. Apparently he has a lot of stubborn nose hair as well??? Milton had to finally explain to him not to shave up to his eyelashes.
